Final Design Thesis for Master of Human Settlements, KU Leuven 2008
The idea was to defend kampung communities along the river basin from being evicted. It focused on wastewater management and flood mitigation, hence, the design strategies not merely addressed communities’ needs but also promoted essential infrastructures for the whole city. The social-ecological transformation of the river basin was studied. Land consolidation was a key approach, as well as densification in order to free some lots for developing new infrastructures. Below file presents the design chapter of the study.
